I kid you not folks. Variety just dropped word today that Warner Bros. are planning on bringing us an updated adaptation of Stephen King’s IT. But that’s not the kicker. Apparently they want to get two films out of this thing!

The studio have already tapped Cary Fukunaga with the task of directing the two films, with Fukunaga also set to help Chase Palmer pen the two-parter. Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg will be producing via their Katz-Smith banner along with Roy Lee and Dan Lin. Jon Silk will be co-producing.

Back in 2009 Warner Bros. had David Kajganich working on a single-film adaptation of the popular King novel but it seems their expectations for this one have grown since then.

“It” centers on seven children in a small Maine town who confront the source of a series of murders in 1958 and again in 1985, when the cycle begins again.

So there you have it folks! An intriguing somewhat-new Stephen King adaptation to look forward to! What I’m wondering is who will be playing the ever-popular ‘Pennywise’ on this go-around?? As always we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more on the project and as soon as that shite rolls our way we’ll be right here to tell you about it.
