Warner Bros. sink their teeth in new vampire-monster-movie Undying Love

Late out of THR’s Heat Vision blog tonight is a pretty fascinating tidbit. It seems Warner Bros. are taking a bite out of a new vampire-monster-mash called UNDYING LOVE. Nope, it ain’t a TWILIGHT spin-off.

Based on a comic book mini-series from Image Comics, The story of UNDYING LOVE centers on an ex-soldier who falls for a girl that happens to be a vampire. The only way the two can be together is if the man takes on the vampire who created her, which also means fighting an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld.

Sounds like a pretty awesome mash-up to me. And what I like even more is the fact the creators of the UNDYING LOVE comics – Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman – will also adapt the screenplay. If there’s a surefire way to lose a writer’s voice, it’s bringing in other writers to try to parrot a similar tone. With Coker and Freedman adapting their own work, the original intent ought to carry through. At least let’s hope that’s the case.

No director or actors have been attached so far. Benderspink co-produces with Stephen L’Heureux.
