Hundreds of years in the future, humans have colonized the solar system. The U.N. controls Earth. Mars is an independent military power. The planets rely on the resources of the Asteroid Belt, where air and water are more precious than gold. Tensions are high between Earth, Mars and the Belt are now all it will take is a single spark to ignite a war.
It is within this future that The Expanse begins. The series kicks off with a hardened detective (Thomas Jane) searching for a missing woman, who must now work with a rogue captain to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. Sit back and watch the first full episode for SyFy's latest!
The involvement of Mark Fergus, writer of CHILDREN AND MEN and IRON MAN, bodes well for this Science Fiction series that shows some real promise. From what I can gather, the world created is a nice balance between a realistic future and intriguing technological advancements. Throw someone as charismatic as Thomas Jane into the mix and it looks like SyFy may have a show worth tuning in for!
