We Interview Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Mara & Luke Scott about Morgan!

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

The feature film debut from Luke Scott – son of Ridley – is a unique and fascinating bit of science fiction and horror. This is an impressive creation from Scott, one that offers up an incredible cast. You have both Anya Taylor-Joy and Kate Mara, with terrific support from Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Brian Cox, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Paul Giamatti. This is an unusal bit of on-screen terror that begins with a slow burn, but soon takes on a brutal edge. And this proves that Anya Taylor-Joy – who was spellbinding in THE WITCH – is a revelation. Both Mara and Taylor-Joy are superb in this provocative sci-fi thriller. Once you see MORGAN, you won't soon forget it.

Recently we sat down with both Taylor-Joy and Mara, as well as the film's director, Mr. Scott. During our conversations, they opened up about crafting a female driven sci-fi horror film, as well as the kind of preparation that contributed to the intense physicality found in their performances. Anya discussed how she got involved and the creative audition process she went through. Luke Scott talked about casting the film as well as having a female antagonist and protagonist in one story – a unique approach for science fiction and horror.

MORGAN is an intense and entertaining thriller, and it opens this Friday at a theatre near you. What is Morgan? You'll find out soon enough.
