We interview Mel Gibson, Andrew Garfield & more for Hacksaw Ridge!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

HACKSAW RIDGE is not only an intense and powerful film, it’s also a happy return for Mel Gibson behind the camera. This incredible story of the first Conscientious Objector ever to be awarded a Medal of Honor is one of the most inspiring movies of the year. Andrew Garfield is fantastic as Desmond T. Doss, an American Medic who refused to carry a gun or kill another living soul. The rest of the cast is also quite impressive, you have Teresa Palmer, Luke Bracey and Vince Vaughn all giving their best.

We recently had the incredible opportunity to speak to Mr. Gibson, and I don’t mind saying that it was a thrilling moment for me personally. Growing up on his work, it was hard not to be a little in awe. He discussed the idea of religious faith mixed with a war film, and why it makes so much sense. Andrew Garfield was also there to discuss playing Doss and working with this acclaimed director.

We also spoke to the lovely Teresa Palmer – who I’m very thankful that I’ve had the chance to chat with so often this year. She is a wonderfully talented actress, and it's been nice to see her take on so many different projects this year. And if that wasn’t cool enough, we also chatted with Vaughn and Bracey who also added their own take on working with Mel Gibson. The two actors discussed this incredible tale and getting involved. This may be one of Vaughn’s best performances to date.

Ready for more Mel? HACKSAW RIDGE blasts into theatres this Friday!
