We talk to John Cena, Hailee Steinfeld and more for Bumblebee at Comic Con!

Last Updated on January 29, 2026

The first-ever Transformers spinoff, BUMBLEBEE, is zipping into theaters this December and we got a chance to talk to the cast and crew at Comic Con, including the film’s director, Travis Knight, as well as the starts of the film, Hailee Steinfeld, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and, of course, John Cena. While time was limited and we couldn’t exactly deep dive into the film, we had some fun with the group while doing the press line. Knight gives some good info on why he chose this as his first live-action film and I couldn’t resist the chance to have John Cena help me get my kid of Fortnite (because kids WILL listen to John Cena) as well as comment on him being the newest hardest working guy in Hollywood. Some fun stuff. You can also check out our coverage of the BUMBLEBEE panel HERE!

BUMBLEBEE transforms into theaters on December 21, 2018.
