Week 2 on Tremors 7 brought out the big guns and Richard Brake

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

As we shared last Monday, the first week of filming on TREMORS: ISLAND FURY, the seventh film in the TREMORS franchise, involved the effects crew pulling off a large explosion while Michael Gross stepped back into the role of series hero Burt Gummer to discover that the character now has long white hair and a bushy beard that makes him look like an angry Santa Claus.

Now another week of filming has been completed, and judging by the pictures that have been sent out from the set it looks like the action got even bigger during the second week. There are a whole lot of characters walking around carrying guns in this movie, including one character who's toting a minigun. There's video of someone blasting a flamethrower, and there's Rob Zombie regular Richard Brake hanging out on set, playing a character named Bill – who he describes as a "crazy f*cker."

There's also a shot of Burt looking like his normal self. So does the Santa Claus look come at the beginning of the movie and Burt finds a reason to clean himself up, or does something happen to him during the course of the movie that leads to him going angry Santa? We'll have to wait and see the movie to find out.

Directed by Don Michael Paul from a script by Brian Brightly, TREMORS: ISLAND FURY finds that

the deadly Graboids are back, illegally brought in to a new island resort by a rich playboy looking for a trophy hunt.

Judging by the pictures of people just walking around with guns, these people are taking a terrible approach to hunting Graboids. I have a feeling there will also be Ass-Blasters in the mix, and I'm really hoping to see some Shriekers.

Gross and Brake are joined in the cast by Jon Heder, Jackie Cruz, Cassie Clare, Caroline Langrishe, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Matthew Douglas, Randy Kalsi, Bear Williams, David Asavanond, Boonma Lamphon, Aukrawut Rojaunawat, Iris Park, Mikey Black, and Ron Smoorenburg.

We'll keep you updated as we hear more about TREMORS: ISLAND FURY. In the meantime, all six previous TREMORS movies can be purchased in this collection. Completists will also want to pick up the episodes of the TV series.
