It’s August, and it’s yet another week of awesome releases in both theaters and on DVD. Quentin Tarantino’s long awaited INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS finally hits theaters and shows us the awesomeness of killing Nazis. On DVD, we have the killer THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake (great movie!), WYVERN from the Maneater Series courtesy of SyFy, and the much acclaimed SURVEILLANCE from director Jennifer Chambers Lynch. Not a bad week for releases, with plenty of cool shit to keep ya busy.

Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as “The Basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own…

SURVEILLANCE

When FBI agents Elizabeth Anderson (Julia Ormond) and Sam Hallaway (Bill Pullman) arrive at a local police station to investigate a series of gruesome murders, there are three witnesses with three different stories of the roadside rampage. However, as the agents begin to expose the fragile little details each witness conceals so carefully with a well practiced lie, they soon discover that uncovering the truth can come at a very big cost.
