Wes Anderson in Paris

Wes Anderson is, arguably, the king of assembling celebrated ensemble casts. Even if those casts are mostly comprised of folks he has worked with in some capacity before, he nonetheless consistently puts together a rather stellar list of names to headline any film he chooses to make.

MOONRISE KINGDOM certainly continued that trend, and if this list of folks supposedly in talks with Anderson is any indication then his next (untitled) film is all set to maintain the tradition.  “… Anderson is approaching a cast of Johnny Depp, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe and Angela Lansbury to star in the film.”  Anderson has been quoted as saying that his next script is “a film I want to make in Europe, a Euro movie.”

Now, again, these people are only in talks at the moment, and some seem a bit more likely than others to eventually sign on. But how incredible would it be if this did indeed end up being the cast for Anderson’s next? I’d probably send him a bottle of rum in thanks. At least one. And maybe some cider as well.   And a box of Darjeeling tea.  It really would be the least I could do.
