Whedon’s Cabin of Lies!

That Joss Whedon is one tricky mofo. Speculation and interest is already high on his top-secret horror project THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, and Whedon is not planning on making things easy for us… movie-news reporting guys… (I can’t think of another way to describe us…)

Whedon is apparently sending out bogus plot summaries to confound our finding out what this movie really is about. The following is from his official blog:

“In order to protect the story from spoilerization, we’ve been sending out our OWN misinformation, including fake sides for the actors, fake summeries, different names… So there’s gonna be a lot of ’information’ leaked that will lead to excited speculation about things you will not see. Sorry. But here’s some stuff you CAN look forward to, my word on it:

1) A person will have an emotion. 2) two people speaking, or “dialogue”, may occur. 3) A bunch of different people will play the part of Bob Dylan.

What we do know for sure is that Richard Jenkins (recently nominated for an Oscar for his performance in THE VISITOR) and Bradley Whitford (THE WEST WING) are in the flick, which will be directed by CLOVERFIELD screenwriter Drew Goddard, from a script written by Goddard and Whedon. And that’s about it… Other than the stuff about the emotions and the people speaking… He’s probably lying about that Bob Dylan stuff, right?

Oh and it’s slated to hit theaters in February 2010.
