Why I Love Movies – Chapter X

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Why do I love movies? Well, that is a loaded question. How much time do you have? I could go into a long-winded diatribe about the art of film-making or the magic of the movies, but all of that has been said countless times before. Not every movie is a masterpiece, but every film has touched me in one way or another. Every other week, we will look at a handful of reasons why movies are so damn great..

CHAPTER X

I love movies…

Because of Peter Capaldi as Malcolm Tucker in IN THE LOOP.

Because of the triple blade sword in THE SWORD AND THE SORCEROR.

Because of The Criterion Collection.

Because of the knitting reference from PEE WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE.

Because of these haircuts.

Because of all the easter eggs in Pixar movies.

Because of how excited I was the first time I saw the trailer for THE X-FILES movie.

Because of the special lunch from LITTLE MONSTERS.

Because Smell-O-Vision was a real thing.

Because of this scene from THE TINGLER.

Because of Natalie Portman‘s ass in YOUR HIGHNESS.

Because my sports knowledge grew from MAJOR LEAGUE, NECESSARY ROUGHNESS, and THE MIGHTY DUCKS.

Because of the doctor’s reaction in ROOKIE OF THE YEAR.

Because of Cameron Diaz in THE MASK

Because of the way a VHS tape slides out of it’s sleeve as you get ready to pop it in the VCR.

Because this scene seemed so incredibly cool to my 10 year old self.

Because this is what my perfect girl looked like for years.

Because nothing beats sitting in a movie theater on opening night.

Because I actually saw the interactive movie MR. PAYBACK, starring Billy Warlock, on the big screen.

Because nothing is quite as endearing as this face.

Stay tuned every other week for more reasons Why I Love Movies! In the meantime, we WANT TO HEAR YOUR OWN REASONS below!!
