Fangoria had a chance to talk with filmmaker Sal Ciavarello
(HARDCORE POISONED EYES) about his latest feature THE WICKED, which he made
with his Profound Images company.
The flick’s about satan. And cults. And violence. And the government.
And religion. And… ah hell, here’s the skinny from Ciavarello
himself:
“THE WICKED is about a war between the descendants of the Knights
Templar and a Satanic cult-but of course there is more to it than that. What
the movie has to say will hopefully be equally interesting. I don’t
want to give too much away, but there is an interesting take, or should I
say commentary, on this whole ‘indecency’ problem that is happening
with the government.
Christian fanatics in power can be extremely dangerous, especially to
those who oppose their views. In my script, the Templars have achieved
that power in the government, but they take it a step further. They try
to silence another group of religious extremists-Satanists. I believe
it’s an interesting and entertaining commentary when we see that it
takes one group of extremists to silence the other. Now picture the kind of
violence that will hit the screen!”
Sounds kinda crazy! You can check out the odd little teaser by heading
on over to THE WICKED’s Official Site, next to that giant freaky
goat-thing. Check it out!
