Michelle Pfeiffer is making headlines after accepting a starring role in Wild Four O’Clocks, which marks the directorial debut of The Batman writer Peter Craig. Later this month, Protagonist Pictures will introduce the project to buyers at the Canned Film Market.

In Wild Four O’Clocks, after their father is sent to prison, two young brothers are placed in the care of their estranged grandmother (Pfeiffer), a vibrant and larger-than-life woman who will quickly have to learn how to care for the heartbroken yet strong-willed boys.

“Launching Craig’s directorial debut, which is an uplifting and universal tale of family bonding told through the eyes of a child, in the great tradition of American storytelling, is a huge honor. Michelle’s magnetism and deeply nuanced performance style make her the perfect choice to lead this heart-warming and inspiring drama,” said Janina Vilsmaier, Protagonist head of sales.

After starring as Betty Ford in the Showtime anthology series The First Lady, Pfeiffer reprised her role as Janet Van Dyne for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, slated for a theatrical release on February 17, 2023. Pfeiffer is always a draw for any project, and Craig landing her for his directorial debut is quite the boon for this promising concept.
