In the SPIDER-MAN universe, we only got Gwen Stacey for a short time. Sadly, she dies at the hands of Green Goblin before Peter can save her. Well, he sort of did, but she was already dead when he caught her.
But in a recent interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (via Monsters and Critics), Stone hints that she might have to keep her hair blonde for awhile. Leno asks, “How long will you keep it blonde?” Stone responds with this, “Um, well, ya know, there’s a few Spider-Men…so I may have to keep it for a couple of years.”
This isn’t exactly a confirmation. She does seem pretty sure that the character will get a sequel though. We don’t even have a plot synopsis. All the we have are tidbits of speculation on what we might think the reboot is going to cover. Stone also talks about sharing the same trainer with the new Spidey, Andrew Garfield. “The other day, after work, I was supposed to work out with our trainer and Andrew said ‘Would it be ok if I worked out with you guys?’ I was like ‘No, that would not be ok’. He was like ‘Why? It’ll be a bonding experience’. I said ‘Because you can lift a car and I’m like, ya know, a weakling beyond belief’. We’re on two completely different ends of the spectrum.”
Then in an article for the LA Times, some details on the production of the film in Los Angeles are given:
“The latest Spider-Man film alone will employ nearly 1,000 crew members, including construction workers building sets for the production, which takes up seven stages on the Sony Pictures lot. Sony began its 90-day film shoot for “Spider-Man” two weeks ago, mainly on the lot but also on location, including at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood and Immanuel Presbyterian Church in mid-Wilshire. Scheduled for release in 2012, “Spider Man 4″ has an entirely new cast (British actor Andrew Garfield replaces Tobey Maguire) and is being directed by Marc Webb at less than half the budget of the previous Spider-Man film, which cost more than $250 million to make. Although the production will include two weeks in New York (where the story is set), the bulk of filming will occur in Los Angeles on the Sony lot and various locations around town, from South Pasadena to San Pedro to Woodland Hills.”
