Will Quicksilver get a solo movie after “fun” scene in X-Men: Apocalypse?

The most talked about scenes from Bryan Singer‘s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST were the ones with Evan Peters‘ Quicksilver, and it’s no surprise he will be back for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Newsarama recently spoke with X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST second unit director Brian Smrz (who has just started work on X-MEN: APOCALYPSE) and he says he’s ready to have some more fun with the speedy character.

Well, there will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to; that’ll be fun.

Besides his second unit directing projects and stunt work, Brian Smrz was also behind the camera for the 2008 thriller HERO WANTED starring Ray Liotta and Cuba Gooding Jr., and the site wanted to know if Smrz is at all interested in helming another movie.

I’d love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot to enjoy with that character. But I’m not geared just towards superhero movies; for me it’s about great main characters, and finding movies that have that.

Earlier this month a rumor surfaced Quicksilver might be featured in a live-action X-Men television series, and considering how much fans enjoyed his X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST appearance, maybe Fox would be interested in doing a solo movie. But just because Brian Smrz would like to do a Quicksilver movie doesn’t mean he’ll be the one who does it, or it will definitely happen. Would you be down with a solo Quicksilver flick?

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is scheduled to be released on May 27, 2016.
