Winning Time Interview: Michael Chiklis on playing Celtics legend Red Auerbach

Winning Time, the new HBO series from Don’t Look Up director Adam McKay and Godzilla screenwriter Max Borenstein, is a hilarious and pulsating look at the genesis of the Los Angeles Lakers squad that defined the 1980s, and we interview actor Michael Chiklis about it all. From Magic Johnson and Kareem-Abdul Jabbar to owner Jerry Buss and more, the series is as funny as it is intense as the entire outlook of the NBA changed almost overnight. The ten-episode series features a massive cast that includes John C. Reilly, Jason Clarke, Sally Field, Gaby Hoffman, and many more.

In prep for the release of Winning Time, we got the chance to interview Chiklis, known for playing the title character on The Commish as well as Vic Mackey on The Shield as well as The Thing in the Fantastic Four duology. The actor got the chance to play legendary Celtics coach Red Auerbach. We talked about working with Adam McKay and playing an iconic NBA leader. Check out the full interview in the embed above.
