Talk of a BEETLEJUICE sequel has been heating up quite a bit lately as we last reported that Tim Burton himself was potentially moving his schedule around in order to direct the second installment that was penned by Seth Grahame-Smith and his partner David Katzenberg. Even Michael Keaton has chimed in stating that he would be back, so at this point I think it's safe to assume that this flick is happening with some key talent from the original film returning. Does this mean we'll also be seeing Winona Ryder (pictured below) reprise her role as Lydia Deetz?

Recently in an interview with The Daily Beast, Winona Ryder spilled some details:

I'm kind of sworn to secrecy. But it sounds like it might be happening…"It's not a remake. It's 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later.

Okay, so it doesn't really tell us a whole lot, but the fact that she says she's sworn to secrecy makes it sound like she could potentially be involved in the film, and if Keaton and Burton are indeed returning then why the hell not? BEETLEJUICE is the only Tim Burton film I can stand and a lot of that has to do with Keaton's performance as the ghost with the most. The thought of Keaton, who we don't see a whole hell of a lot anymore, taking on the character of Beetlejuice once again is enough to keep me excited for this one. We'll keep you folks in the know as more from this one develops!
