If Winona Ryder gets involved in anything these days, I’m instantly excited. I’ve been a fan of hers since BEETLEJUICE came out. I’m not one of those chicks that lost their shit over MERMAIDS. Most girls I knew growing up that also liked Ryder liked her because of MERMAIDS. I just didn’t connect as well to Charlotte as I did Lydia.
The last thing I saw Ryder in was J.J. Abrams’ STAR TREK as Spock’s mom and then in BLACK SWAN. Now it looks like she’s going to play the wife of Michael Shannon in THE ICEMAN.
The drama will be directed by Ariel Vromen and based on the Anthony Bruno book about, “Richard Kuklinski, a family man who secretly carried out contract killings for the mob.” Shannon will play killer Kuklinski with Chris Evans co-starring as his mentor, Robert Pronge. Ryder will take on the role as clueless wife, Deborah who had no idea Kuklinski was a contract killer.
