So there was some "controversy" (in large-ass air-quotes) recently, concerning the marketing for Bethesda's upcoming game WOLFENSTEIN II: THE NEW COLOSSUS. See, they ran this promo (which, mind you, began as a game set in WWII, then transitioned into an alternate history where evil Nazis have taken over America):
Make America Nazi-Free Again. #NoMoreNazis #Wolf2 pic.twitter.com/52OESypw4P
sponsored content— Wolfenstein (@wolfenstein) October 5, 2017
Which, for some unfathomable reason, led to these responses:
imagine seeing the words "no more nazis" and reacting like this pic.twitter.com/5L9b8CPm3s

Anyway, here's Bethesda's answer to that:
There is only one side. #NoMoreNazis #Wolf2 pic.twitter.com/7Ctu265Mus
— Wolfenstein (@wolfenstein) October 15, 2017
Meanwhile, Bethesda VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines, elaborated:
We don't feel it's a reach for us to say Nazis are bad and un-American. And we're not worried about being on the right side of history here…In 'Wolfenstein's' case, it's pure coincidence that Nazis are marching in the streets of America this year. And it's disturbing that the game can be considered a controversial political statement at all.
So it seems WOLFENSTEIN II: THE NEW COLOSSUS will punch tons more Nazis October 27th.
