James Wong, the dude who brought us FINAL DESTINATION and FINAL DESTINATION 3, has just signed up to do a whole new horror flick, this time set during WWII.
The flick’s called THE WATCH, with Matt LeBlanc’s production company Fort Hill Prods. producing and New Line Cinema distributing. It’s basically been in development hell for the last 5 years or so, but is now on its way with Wong not only directing, but rewriting it as well. But what’s it about? Check it:
A team of soldiers sent on a mission that can help end World War II and battle a supernatural force.
The first thought that popped into my head here was HELLBOY, and more specifically the beginning of HELLBOY, with all that crazy supernatural shite happening during the war. I can only imagine what supernatural forces that will need battling in THE WATCH, but so far, the flick’s premise sounds pretty damn good. Plus, while FD3 wasn’t ‘all that’, I still had a good time, and I think Wong here will do some great things given the right project. Who knows, maybe this is that project!
THE WATCH is currently on the fast track, so stick around as casting news will most likely be spewing at the seams within the next couple of weeks.
