Fresh from his role in A SCANNER DARKLY (this one not involving him playing a transvestite hooker), Woody Harrelson has joined the cast of director Brad ‘I’m not related to Paul’ Anderson’s crime-thriller TRANS-SIBERIAN, Spanish production house Filmax announced Thursday.
Harrelson will join a cast which also includes British actress Samantha Morton (who will play Harrelson’s wife, pictured below), Kate Mara, Eduardo Noriega and Ben Kingsley, who will play a Russian cop hot on the trail of the two couples (Harrelson-Morton and Noriega-Mara, if you forgot already).
The story for the film focuses on an American couple that travels on the famous Trans-Siberian train from Vladivostok to Moscow, and encounters another couple. What seems to be a simple train journey soon turns into a thrilling chase full of deception and murder as it becomes clear that not everybody is who they seem. The film begins shooting Dec. 11 in Beijing, Russia and Lithuania.
