WTF: Gene Simmons is trying to trademark the Devil Horns

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

For the most part we here at AITH report on the news happening in and around the horror movie business. That said, sometimes real life is crazier (and scarier) than anything the movies can dream up.

Case in point on the crazy end of things. Turns out KISS bassist and all around gigolo Gene Simmons is currently trying to trademark the famous rock/metal hand gesture "the Devil Horns."

Simmons filed an application Friday for a trademark on the hand gesture. According to Simmons, this gesture was first used in commerce Nov. 14, 1974 -which correspond with Kiss' Hotter Than Hell tour. Simmons is claiming the hand gesture mark for "entertainment, namely, live performances by a musical artist; personal appearances by a musical artist."

What do you think of this craziness? Do you think Simmons – or anyone – should be able to trademark a hand gesture? Let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

You can read up on the whole thing further RIGHT HERE.

Well, would you look at that?
