WTF Happened To This Movie? – The JoBlo series that looks at troubled movie productions, box-office failures, and bizarre and surprising creative decisions!

It took a century for Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic pulp hero John Carter (played by Taylor Kitsch) to finally reach the red planet on the big screen. But Disney’s 2012 feature — the live-action directing debut of Pixar’s Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E) — was exorbitantly expensive, mishandled its marketing, and ultimately proved to be one of history’s biggest box office failures posting an over $200 million loss. Yet the movie itself is – dare I say – pretty damn good! Get yer ass to Mars and find out “WTF Happened to John Carter!”
