We’ve been through this many-a-time before in recent years, but it seems like it’s really happening now: THE X-FILES 2 is happening! No, really!
Okay, I’m not going to stake my good reputation on it (not that such a thing exists), but ComingSoon.net is making it sound rock-solid: under the working title “Done One,” X-FILES will begin production on December 10 in Vancouver, with Chris Carter directing from a script he co-wrote with Frank Spotnitz.
The storyline is, of course, under wraps – and you can probably expect it to stay that way for quite a while – but rumor has always been that it will be in the style of the “stand-alone” horror entries, which were always my favorites (“Home” anyone?!). David Duchovney, who portrayed Agent Fox Mulder, has long been in favor of a new film, while Gillian Anderson has mostly distanced herself from the series in general – however, both are expected to return for this go-round.
Since December isn’t far off at all, you can expect more details to beam down soon.
