X-Men Origins: Wolverine – The UnPopular Opinion

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Welcome back to The UnPopular Opinion! The UnPopular Opinion features different takes on films that either I hated, but that the majority of film fans loved or vice versa. We have always hoped this column will promote constructive and geek fueled discussion. Now, with us entering the visual world, you can get pissed off in a whole new medium. Each episode is written and narrated by yours truly and masterfully edited by Matthew Hacunda.

It is Thanksgiving and that means families around the United States are trying to celebrate during the pandemic. While some cannot be together, others are commiserating on shared beliefs and things they are appreciative of. I am thankful for a lot of things, including X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. The maligned spin-off focused on Hugh Jackman's titular Marvel superhero has long been trashed as a terrible movie and one that almost tanked Ryan Reynolds' chances of playing Deadpool. I am here to defend the movie as a fun flick and the only reason that THE WOLVERINE, LOGAN, and DEADPOOL even exist. Check out my reasons in the video above.

Oh, and if you have any suggestions for The UnPopular Opinion I’m always happy to hear them. You can send along an email to [email protected] or spell it out in the comments below. Provide me with as many movie suggestions as you like, with any reasoning you'd care to share, and if I agree then you may one day see it featured in this very column!
