Yellowstone: Season 4 trailer hints at a grim outcome for the Duttons

Yellowstone has dropped a trailer for its upcoming fourth season and it certainly hints at things looking pretty grim for the Duttons.

At the end of the third season, three members of the Dutton family were in harm’s way, including Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, who was the victim of a roadside ambush. Beth Dutton (Kelly Reily) was in danger of an impending exploding package while Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) was stuck trying to outwit angry gunmen who were after him as the season wrapped. That is a lot to unpack when season four premieres but I’m sure the fans are ready to get some answers.

The trailer doesn’t really spoil any of those big reveals but it shows that something bad is happening to wannabe bronco buster Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) while a desperate Rip (Cole Hauser) is yelling, “Don’t you die on me, you hear me?” Who could he be talking to? Is it Jimmy or is it Beth, who he agreed to marry in season 3? Will Patton is also now a series regular and it looks like his Garret Randall is looking to stir up trouble as he is the real father of Jamie Dutton, played by Wes Bentley. Is Yellowstone the Dallas of our generation? Certainly sounds like it.

Season four will see new cast additions that include Piper Perabo as Summer Higgins, an outside protestor who’s against industrialized farming, Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner, the CEO of Market Equities, Kathryn Kelly as Emily, a vet tech who gets close to a cowboy; and Finn Little as Carter, a young boy who’s like a miniature version of Rip.

Did YOU like the season four trailer? Yellowstone premieres its fourth season on November 7, 2021, on the Paramount Network.
