MyMovies.net had a chat with director Tony Scott today, mostly regarding his latest movie DOMINO, hitting theaters Friday. During his chat he dropped a line about his next project, a little remake of one of the coolest movies to date: THE WARRIORS!
Scott explains:
“I see it as ‘Kingdom Of Heaven’ meets ‘The Warriors’ because with these gangs, instead of having twenty or thirty guys, I’m going to have three thousand, five thousand guys in the LA river beds and it’s going to look like LA during the riots. I love the original movie, that’s why I’m in doing this but I’m not going to copy the original”
I always thought the point of remakes was to remake something, not to do something completely different. But I must say, his idea for the movie sounds cool as hell- and I’m sure Scott, like no other, will make a gritty violent film we can all enjoy. Just stop calling it a remake already!
