You season 4: Lukas Gage joins the cast of Netflix thriller series

I’m a big fan of the Netflix thriller series You, so I’m really glad to hear some season 4 casting news today. Deadline reports that Lukas Gage is joining the cast for the new season, taking on the series regular role of Adam, “an ex-pat American, the youngest son of a wealthy East-Coast magnate. He’s famous for spectacularly failing to meet the standards of his successful, venerable family. An entrepreneur and a gambler, Adam is a warm and funny party host and fast friend. But underneath, Adam is hiding a trove of secrets and papering over problems with heavy self-medication. Determined to prove himself, Adam’s taking big, risky swings, living by the truism that a good businessman does absolutely anything he can get away with. Does he love his wealthy, titled girlfriend, or is he using her? There’s no doubt he’s manipulating his friends; the only question is how far he’d go…”

Yep, that definitely sounds like a You character. An alternative description posted on Twitter says Adam is “the warm, funny, and hard-partying son of a wealthy family who is famous for failing to meet their standards. But the one thing he did learn from his parents is to do whatever it takes to get what you want.”

Based on a series of novels by Caroline Kepnes (take a look at her work HERE), You stars Penn Badgley. The show was developed by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, and Gamble serves as showrunner. It centers on

Joe Goldberg, a man who will do just about anything when love is at stake.

A synopsis for You season 4 has not yet been revealed. It looks like the show is heading to Paris for the new season. There’s no word on whether or not season 3 cast member Tati Gabrielle, who can be seen in this weekend’s theatrical release Uncharted, will be reprising the role of Marienne Bellamy.

Gamble had this to say about Netflix ordering You season 4:

Reading Caroline’s novel, Greg and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted world view. And it’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life. We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support, and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past 3 seasons. The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season 4.”

You is produced by Berlanti Productions, and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television. Berlanti, Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, David Madden, Gina Girolamo, John Scott, Neil Reynolds, Michael Foley, and Justin Lo also serve as executive producers.

Gage’s previous credits include Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Sickhouse, American Vandal, Assassination Nation, Supergirl, Deadcon, Veronica Mars, Euphoria, Into the Dark: Midnight Kiss, Wireless, The White Lotus, and Love, Victor. You might have also seen him in a viral video where he had an unpleasant audition on Zoom.
