Zack Snyder reveals original Steppenwolf villain design for Justice League

Director Zack Snyder is at it again, folks, and this time he's bringing Steppenwolf to the party! Snyder recently posted a wicked image to his VERO account, featuring the original design for Darkseid's herald Steppenwolf, the villain from JUSTICE LEAGUE played by Game of Thrones' Ciarán Hinds.

In the photo, we see Steppenwolf looking more like a boss from the video game Bloodborne than Hinds' version seen in Joss Whedon's theatrical cut of the original film. Gone is the actor's face which then looks to have been replaced with some manner of shielding. Furthermore, the character's armor is now covered in spikes, making the villain more formidable against melee attacks. In my opinion, the character looks outright demonic in Snyder's newly-revealed version, which I'm sure that some fans are bound to love.

Alongside the photo, Snyder included the following comment: "Just working today pulled this out of the editorial sorry he’s Low resolution but I’ve seen him in all his hi-Rez glory and he’s a thing to behold ??? quick question… how many f@*ks do you think he gives ????"

Zack Snyder's long-anticipated cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE is coming to HBO Max in 2021, and is set to be a major part of DC's Fandome event on August 22.
