Zack Snyder reveals the look of Darkseid for his Justice League cut!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So this is interesting. It seems that the Zack Snyder cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE – coming to HBO Max later next year – is going to be a more drastic departure from the theatrical cut than maybe was first theorized. Now, it's no secret he was replaced by Joss Whedon partway through filming due to a family emergency, and that the final results were…mixed, to say the least.

However, just today, Zack Snyder revealed on his personal Twitter account that none other than motherf*cking Darkseid is going to be in the new cut! And you can check out the bad boy himself below:

I mean…he looks like Darkseid alright, I suppose. Thing is, character designs were never really the problem with Snyders' DCEU films (at least in my opinion). Minus maybe the overly-busy Flash costume, his take on the Superman, Wonder Woman, and especially Batman costumes were great – being very true to the comics, and only really tweaking when necessary (hell, he's still the only person to ever put Batman in comics-accurate black-and-gray, if Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN set pics are anything to go by). The issue is – again, my opinion – pretty much everything else.

But, hey, I know his films have their fans (and I even have a soft spot for MAN OF STEEL, despite its many flaws), and I'm otherwise still optimistic. I mean, one of the main issues of the theatrical cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE was the obvious FRANKENSTEIN-nature of Joss Whedon's re-shoots not meshing tonally or aesthetically with what Snyder had done beforehand. So at the very least, this cut will be cohesive. And who knows? Maybe it will be great, as will the characterization of Darkseid (however limited his screentime most likely is). I certainly hope so.

But what do you guys think? Excited for the Snyder cut? If so, what are you most looking forward to? Either way, sound off below!
