Today is a sad, sad day. ZODIAC, the telling of the San Francisco serial killings back in the 70s, has been slated for a January 19th, 2007! What? Is it that bad? I mean, f*ckin’ January, yo?!
ZODIAC, directed by master filmmaker David Fincher (ALIEN 3, SEVEN, FIGHT CLUB), stars underrated actor Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Edwards, Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo. You’d think with all the star power and talent behind this, they wouldn’t drop it off in January. Usually, that months left over for the crap nobody wants. So what gives?!
But then I think about how much HOSTEL kicked ass, and I feel a little bit better. Not only was it a rockin’ genre flick, but it made hella bank! Maybe that’s what Paramount is hoping for with this move.
Then I think about BIG MOMMA’S HOUSE 2, and my confidence is shattered. Oh well. One thing’s for sure, they’re not pulling for Oscar-worthiness. Not saying that’s a bad thing, I’m just sayin’, that’s all.
