You have to admire Luc Besson’s efficiency as much as his fondness for characters who engage in over-the-top violence. The LA FEMME NIKITA creator seems to churn out a new action script every other week, then puts on his producing hat and gets the damn thing made. And if he didn’t, we might never know just how much ass people like Jean Reno, Jason Statham, Milla Jovovich and Liam Neeson could kick.
We’ve seen hints of what kind of damage the gorgeous Zoe Saldana can dish out in THE LOSERS and (digitally) AVATAR, but she’ll be front and center for COLOMBIANA in which she plays a woman who “grows up to be a stone-cold assassin after witnessing her parents’ murder as a child in Bogota. She works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target – the mobster responsible for her parents’ death.”
