Zoe Saldana to star in an adaptation of the graphic novel, I Kill Giants

It was announced today that Zoe Saldana has joined the cast of I KILL GIANTS, an adaptation of Joe Kelly’s critically acclaimed graphic novel of the same name, in the role of Mrs. Mollé. Saldana will star alongside Madison Wolfe, who won the role after a nationwide search of more than 500 girls. Anders Walter, who won an Academy Award in 2014 for his short film HELIUM, will direct I KILL GIANTS with Chris Columbus taking on a producing role

Walter's had this to say about Saldana's casting:

I’m thrilled to have the massively talented Zoe helping us bring Joe Kelly’s beautiful story to life, I couldn’t be more excited to see Mrs. Mollé, a kind, strong and incredibly inspirational character up on the big screen.

"I Kill Giants" was created by Joe Kelly and Ken Niimura and tells the story of a young misfit named Barbara (Madison Wolfe) who finds herself battling both real and imaginary monsters in her life. Mrs Mollé (Zoe Saldana), a school psychologist, tries to help Barbara face both the internal and external threats and forms an inspiring bond in the process.

Saldana is currently filming STAR TREK BEYOND but production on I KILL GIANTS will begin in early 2016.
