You ever hear the one about that old haunted road up north? For some reason, I feel that this question must have been asked at one time or another by every kid in every town across America. It seems that there’s an urban legend about some spooky stretch of gravel everywhere! And now, it looks like we’ll be getting a brand new horror flick on the subject.
THE LEGEND OF ZOMBIE ROAD will be based on the “true story” of St. Louis’ famed Zombie Road and the surrounding area, which has been deemed one of the top ten most haunted places in the U.S. The main story around this Road goes like this: it is haunted by the ghost of a man known only as “Zombie” who would make his way nightly to the area, where he would stalk and kill party-goers and then return to the asylum before dawn. It is said that he was killed in the asylum after slaying approximately 22 people.
That sure sounds like one fun, creepy concept to me. It also helps that genre minds like cinematographer Howard Smith (MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D) and Ethan Terra (MONSTERPIECE THEATER) will be the ones bringing ZOMBIE ROAD to big-screen life. And, hell yes, the flick will be coming at us in 3D!
The initial cast set up rocks too: Kane Hodder, Masiela Lusha, and MBV3D hottie, Betsy Rue (below). The script was written by big-time horror scribe, Joe Knetter, as well as Mr. Terra. I’ll be sure to tell you more on ZOMBIE ROAD as I hear it.
