If you haven’t seen ZOMBIELAND, you may not want to read ahead, as I’m about to spoil what is arguably the best moment of the movie. More importantly, if you haven’t seen ZOMBIELAND, you should get off the computer and go buy it, because it’s one of the best horror/comedies in years.
With ZOMBIELAND 2 currently in pre-production, Columbia Pictures is planning a “superstar cameo” to rival that of Bill Murray in the original. The studio is looking for someone iconic along the lines of Harrison Ford or Anthony Hopkins. Both great choices, no doubt.
An insider also revealed the the film’s script, penned once again by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, calls for a lead villain with comedic roots and a “hunky rival” to go toe-to-to with Woody Harrelson’s character.
Jesse Eisenberg is the only star officially signed on for the sequel, but Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin are all expected to return. Ruben Fleischer, who made his feature directorial debut on ZOMBIELAND, will go back behind the camera for the 3D follow-up.
