Damn I love Bill Murray!
Ya know, if it wasn’t for the box office behemoth THE HANGOVER, Ruben Fleischer’s ZOMBIELAND had an outside shot of being last year’s biggest all around comedy (and don’t gimme any PROPOSAL nonsense, either). So well the flick did, that despite rampant online piracy, a sequel was put into development almost instantly. And given the current Hollywood trend, when it was announced that ZOMBIELAND 2 would be filmed in 3D, none of us were too shocked. Were we.
Well, looks like initial scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have caught up with the chaps at MTV and divulged a bit of info on the upcoming sequel. Here’s a snippet of what the dudes had to say:
“There absolutely will be a sequel, and it will absolutely be in 3D,” Reese revealed. “Now, it’s just a question of what that sequel will be. It’s not a question of having enough ideas, but almost having too many ideas. We have a lot of ideas!”
In terms of how far the pair looks to push the 3D envelope, Reese muses:
“We entirely want to write with 3D in mind…We have the vision, and want to have fun with the technology.” Wernick adds “We want you to be looking down at your popcorn to make sure there isn’t blood on it…There will be a lot of fluids flying!”
In terms of character and storylines, Wernick states:
“We want to stick with our dysfunctional family…But also introduce new characters.” Reese continues: “There will be continuing romantic adventures…We haven’t decided on this, but it would be nice to have a love interest for Tallahassee.”
Indeed it would! Not sure about you, but I see a tough as nails broad to handle the role, someone like Rhona Mtira or Milla Jovovich. I doubt it’ll be either of those two chicks per se, but someone from that mold is definitely required. I mean, c’mon, it’s f*ckin’ Woody!
