Iron Man 3

How about a tasty spoiler to start your week?

At this point post-credit scenes are mandatory for all of Marvel’s films. I think if there was a Marvel film without that little bonus plenty of fanboys would start to riot. Some may call it sequel baiting or think it’s a gimmick just to give nerds hard-ons but I think the sequences are entertaining as hell and to me the scenes have always worked because they feel like something that does appear in the comics. Plenty of times at the end of a comic there will be a tiny bonus story or a tease of something bigger at work so why not have something similar for the films?

IRON MAN 3 premiered in Paris last night and a source for Latino-Review has a scoop on the post-credit scene that appears at the end of the film. This is clearly a spoiler so if you want to avoid it don’t scroll past the image of a…uh…spoiler.

Spoiler

Here’s what was revealed about the IRON MAN 3 post-credit scene:

It starts with a close shot of Tony Stark on a couch talking about his various traumas, obviously he’s talking to someone, as if he was seeing a shrink, the tone of the scene is light and supposedly funny. Then we discover that the person he’s talking to is Bruce Banner/Mark Ruffalo, who fell asleep because of Tony’s boring story. Tony remarks that Banner has been sleeping during the most part of his story and yells at him, and Banner just mumbles and says “You know, I’m not that kind of doctor!” Then Tony recalls another memory and resumes his monologue, and then we see Banner starting to fall asleep again.

The banter between Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo was awesome in THE AVENGERS and I’m glad we’re going to get more of it, even if it is only a couple of seconds. There were some rumors that the post-credit scene for IRON MAN 3 might involve GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY somehow but there’s always a chance Marvel could sneak another scene in at the end as well similar to the post-credit scene for THE AVENGERS that was shot after the film’s premiere.

Jesus Christ will May 3rd just get here already so we can see this damn movie?
