Black Friday deals!

It used to be that the day after Black Friday was reserved for sleeping off the insane amount of turkey consumption from the night before but now the concept of doorbusting has taken over our consumer happy culture.  In these tough economic times, it's even more important to snuff out the best possible deals and save yourself some much needed coin.  To that end, we've decided to help you track down the best geek-friendly deals tomorrow to get you or your loved one that special holiday present.

BEST BLU-RAY PLAYER DEALS

There's no doubt that Blu-ray is one of the big ticket items for fanboys this holiday season.  Prices are finally started to drop to affordable rates and retailers are making a concerted effort to push the new Blu-ray hardware and movies at discounted prices.  If you're looking for a player this year, here are your best bets:

SEARS - Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray Player - $179.99.  This same player, which Money Magazine named the second best Blu-ray player after the PS3, is going for $249 at Best Buy on Black Friday.  Save yourself $60 by heading to Sears.

WAL-MART - Maganvox Blu-ray Player - $128.  This player normally retails for $198 and isn't quite as highly regarded as the player listed above, it's far and away the cheapest price for a new Blu-ray player we've seen.  If money's an option, this may be a deal you can't miss.

OTHER DEALS - Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray Player with $25 Gift Card - $399 (Circuit City), Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-ray Player - $199 (Best Buy), Sony PlayStation 3 with SPIDER-MAN 3 Blu-ray Disc and Extra Wireless Controller - $399 (Circuit City), Sony PlayStation 3 with CASINO ROYALE Blu-ray and "Tools of Destruction" game - $399 (Best Buy)

BEST HDTV DEALS

A Blu-ray player will do nothing for you if you don't have the TV to show it off on.  Prices are dropping dramatically on HDTVs and now it's possible to get a quality 1080p TV for under $1000.  Sadly manufacturers are hip to the whole Black Friday deal and have created TVs specifically made for these type of sales.  Expect to see very similar prices no matter where you shop.  If you still haven't upgraded to an LCD or plasma, take a look at these offers:

SEARS - Samsung 46" 1080p LCD HDTV - $1199.  While it's true you can get a Samsung 46" 1080p LCD for $1099 at many retailers this Black Friday, that particular model (LN46A500) is one that was created by Samsung specifically for Black Friday deals.  For just $100 more you can upgrade to a standard model (LN46A530) that includes two additional A/V inputs, built-in picture-in-picture and is EnergyStar compliant.

BEST BUY - Panasonic Viera 50" 720p Plasma HDTV - $899.  Under $900 is a great deal for a 50" plasma even if it is only 720p.
