Brave New Leo

Brave New World book cover

Ridley Scott has been itching to adapt Aldous Huxley’s quintessential novel BRAVE NEW WORLD for a long time now, and from the looks if it he found a partner to finally get it underway.

Ridley’s Scott Free will be developing the project with Leo DiCaprio’s Appian Way shingle for possibly one to direct and the other to headline, although neither are signed on as more then producers for now.

Scribe Farhad Safinia, whose only previous other screenwriting gig was for Mel’s APOCALYPTO, will handle the arduous task of adapting the text. Arduous as in, and I know that ’cause I got stuck with it for a whole friggin year in college, the book contains much more of a philosophical study than actual plot-driven story. Kinda like THE ISLAND, but, you know, less pyrotechnics.
