Channing Tatum wants to make a male stripper movie?

In case you didn’t know, Channing Tatum began his entertainment career as a male stripper during his teenage years before eventually moving on to acting. He tells the Sydney Morning Herald while doing press for his latest film DEAR JOHN: “It seemed like a fun thing to do at the time and I got out unscathed. It’s nothing I’m ashamed of and I’m not proud of it either. I wanted to talk about it in the beginning of my career but my publicist wouldn’t let me.”

And apparently, there was enough the actor took from that experience to turn it all into a movie, a movie he’d like BRONSON director Nicolas Refn to direct: “I’ve already got the director picked out. I’d like Nicolas Refn, who did the movie Bronson, to do it because he’s insane for it… It needs to be a crazy film and I think it’s also possible to do a cute, romantic movie.”

Whether or not Tatum was drunk or high or just being slightly facetious about the idea of such a project is not clear. What I do know is… BRONSON was a f*cking good movie.

Channing Tatum’s DEAR JOHN opens wide on February 5th. He will also be seen in Kevin Macdonald’s sword and sandals epic THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH later this year.
