Oscar winners George Clooney and Cate Blanchett are in talks to voice the lead characters in Wes Anderson’s upcoming animated film THE FANTASTIC MR. FOX. The film is based on the classic Roald Dahl tale and follows a wily fox (Clooney) who uses his cunning to outwit three farmers out to have his head. Blanchett would voice the main farmer’s wife. MR. FOX will be animated using stop-motion animation and will use a lot of the same facilities and even the same animation producer (Allison Abbate) as THE CORPSE BRIDE. Anderson is expected to begin production on MR. FOX as soon as he wraps he latest live-action flick THE DARJEELING LTD. with Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman. Clooney and Blanchett would be reunited after working together recently on Steven Soderbergh’s THE GOOD GERMAN. Clooney is currently directing and starring in LEATHERHEADS with Renee Zellweger. Blanchett is currently filming THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON with Brad Pitt for director David Fincher.
