Cool Videos: Kevin Spacey featured in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer

05.02.2014

Not content with just waxing political on the Netflix original House of Cards, Kevin Spacey will be adding his credentials to the upcoming Call of Duty installment, Advanced Warfare.  Activision seemed intent on dropping the trailer on May 4th (you check out the teaser here), however the proverbial cat was let out of the bag, and they're rolling with it.

Call of Duty's latest entry appears to follow in the footsteps of Black Ops II, in that it will be set in the near-future, showcasing advanced technology and a single-player campagin featuring Kevin Spacey in a prominent role.

As long as the gameplay is there, it looks like Activision will have some great acting chops to add to the formula.  In the meantime, you can check out Kevin Spacey in Netflix's House of Cards, or enjoy his deliciously despicable return in HORRIBLE BOSSES 2, with Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Christoph Waltz and Chris Pine on November 26, 2014.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will hit consoles November 4th, 2014.

I honestly don't know the difference

Really nothing new to see except FU. "You can either be a doormat or a matador. What do you think I want to be"

Unprecidented

This is without a doubt the most impressive thing ever done by a video game. I'm not talking about the game itself I'm talking about Kevin Spacy. His involvement elevates not just this game, not just this franchise, but the entire industry.

Yeah - the same one over and over.

One where either go through a pulled along rails through a shooting gallery in single player, or multiplayer where 13 year-olds scream at you in the lobby waiting for the match to start.

To each their own - but this horse has been beaten into the ground, and Activision is charging exorbitant fees to taste the bloody pulp on the roadside.

CoD = recycled garbage

Nobody plays CoD for the single player story... Those that are fine with paying for the same game + $100 in DLC each year are idiots. They are killing the video game industry. It isn't even a negative thing to say that the games are all the same. It is a proven fact. Whenever Blops 2 crashes you get the MW logo and error. They use the same engine for each game and its just not different at all. $60 for new maps and to start from level 1 each year. When will it end?

These games are diminishing returns incarnate.

It's the same game since COD:MW, with the noise cranked up louder and the character jumping from bigger explosions in SP, and a few more weird perks in MP - so they can charge another $60-70 per game.

When the biggest department is your marketing department, and you need Kevin Spacey's voice and likeness to make your FPS game stick out from previous entries... maybe its time to look at refreshing the gameplay and the engine.

Looks and sounds cool, but can we go back to old school warfare?

I love Call of Duty, and this new installment looks cool and different from the others, but it also looks like a prequel to the original Halo. Also, has a very James Cameron movie feel, and not just with the Avatar looking helicopters and giant robot transporters with mini guns, but with what looks like the main villain being an evil corporation. All of which I am down for......but I would really like to see Call of Duty go back to old school warfare. World War II, The Cold War, Vietnam, what

All of which I am down for......but I would really like to see Call of Duty go back to old school warfare. World War II, The Cold War, Vietnam, what about World War I? One of my main reasons for this is the more modern Call of Duty gets the easier it becomes for non-stop playing gamers to team up, kill, and dominate the match every time online.

Square Enix has a new WW2 shooter coming out that actually looks like its going to blow CoDoodie out of the water. They aren't spending a million dollars to get Kevin Spacy but Activision only does that because they put flair on a turd and people gobble it up likes its gourmet bacon.

Activision needs to change their gameplay formula cause it's getting old. The games are just slowly becoming movies over time and I'm not willing to keep spending $60 for a movie.

Agreed. Can we just rent the blu ray?

I haven't cared about Call of Duty since Black Ops, but I'm actually quite impressed with this.

Really clever casting and I love how Spacey is delivering these lines with such relish. He's clearly having a bit of fun with this.
