Do we have the first image from The Dark Knight Rises?

Feb. 15, 2011by: Paul Tassi

Buried in our own JoBlo forums, Super Schmoe Cosimo claims to have the first leaked pic from the set of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

As much as we'd love to unconditionally trust our own readers, this could turn out to be old or fake, but I'll post it below so you can speculate. Here's where Cosimo claims he got it.

"my good mate who is working on set at cardington where it's being shot sent me this"

If true, this would mean Nolan is planning to return to Arkham, which I think we can all agree would be a welcome plot development. Could that be where we first meet Bane? Or perhaps hear the cackling of the Joker behind a locked door? Your guess is as good as mine.

Extra Tidbit: If Nolan's series had never existed, I'd be clamoring for someone to make an ARKHAM ASYLUM movie based on the game.

Tidbit. Why make a movie when you already have the game to play? I would not want to watch a movie with the plot of something I've already played and works better as a game. Just new Batman is needed.

To the dude below, so just cuz It looks the same as the first film means its an old pic? Why would they change the look of it? Do they remodel the asylum every few years or what? What do they have the crazy people go out and repaint kinda spruce things up or what? I think it may be legit, but who knows shit I will take any batman set pic old or new

tidbit...

I'd rather see the 'Arkham Asylum' graphic novel made before the video game.

Oh It's real...but it's from Batman Begins

Remember the front steps of Arkham Asylum that Gary Oldman's Gordon ran down carrying Katie Holmes' Rachel Dawes
to safety during Batman's "back-up" bat attack? That's the [link] set that Nathan Crowley, Paki Smith & Simon Wakefield built in 2004.

If you don't believe me, track down the VERY FIRST web page printings of Nolan insisting he wouldn't re-cast The Joker & tidbits on Inception (Somewhere around June 4th-6th 2010) and in a picture attached to 1 of them (pic taken & registered in

Not to mention the blast hole where inmates slipped out of during that movie's climax also. They could've torn it down...maybe not.

All i'm saying is that your "Super Schmoe Cosimo" needs to ACTUALLY wait for a legitimate piece of "Dark Knight Rises" info to be released before reporting on something as premature as "TDKR's" production is of now.

looks like its real to me. and dr bruce "why has no one bothered to brick up that massive hole in the wall on the bottom right? " -- thats because weather this photo is old or new, when this was taken, they were/are still building & dressing the set.

I hope its for DKR though. If batman even just walked through the place they could cameo a bunch of villians by sight or the classic " i'll get you bats" said through slits in the door or show a bunch of the bad guys he's put in there since he

show their profiles on charts beside the doors as he walks by. that'd be a good way show a bunch of the characters from the world without risking'villian overload'

Likely fake, but...

Maybe they're using the set for a flashback scene? Maybe Bane was in Arkham for some reason, escaped during the prison break in Begins, and fully becomes Bane during this movie. Just throwing ideas around.

UNLIkely

If this is for DKR then between Begins and TDK why has no one bothered to brick up that massive hole in the wall on the bottom right? I know the cops are ineffectual at best and corrupt in gotham but surely a disgruntled parent or well meaning Bat-imposter MIGHT have blu-tacked a poster of some bricks over it. Not convinced.

"If Nolan's series had never existed, I'd be clamoring for someone to make an ARKHAM ASYLUM movie based on the game."

Uhm, and why not anymore? Nolan Batman isn't anything gothic or dark as it should be with Batman, so I still hope someone someday will actually make a real Batman movie :(
And as for the picture.. Jesus, who cares.

Nope

Hate to rain on the parade but this is a promotional set-piece constructed for the new Batman videogame. They're filming realistic ads with actors and then CGI-'ing it to create a videogame "look."

I don't think ANYONE should try and imitate Ledger's Joker but if I heard that laugh from behind a cell door, goosebumps would be an understatement. Hell, I got em' reading that idea...

Anyone come to think that maybe this "looks old" because they are using the same set piece as Batman Begins for The Dark Knight Rises?

This is from Batman begins, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not from TDKR. They could be reusing the same set in the third installment. Continuity...

If someone adapts the Arkham Asylum game, it will involve a "family dynamic"-duo of adventures.

Somebody delete the Internet from Now - A.T.D.K.R. I want to know absolutely nothing, and I hope Nolan ONLY gives Inception-esque Teasers.

Lovin' it. I really hope this turns out to be the best one in the series. I hope it goes out on a huge BANG.

As for the tidbit, I'd be willing to bet that we will see that film one day after Nolan is done doing his thing.

I think your chain is getting pulled here.

And EXTRA TIDBIT - they can still do it after this series is over. People will compare whomever plays the Joker to Ledger nonstop, but it could still happen.

An animated movie based on the plot of the game - now THAT is reasonable to wish for.

I posted it on the forum, and I'll do it here. This is a set pic from Begins. Its been at the hanger for 6 years now. Like they previous poster said, just look next to the stairwell. Its where they blasted the wall where the prisoners escaped.

For some reason I think it's just an old shot from Batman Begins seeing how there's a giant hole in the wall where the inmates broke free, but I could be wrong.

Sorry FuzzyJedi, but your poor gaming skills do not justify these blasphemies against Arkham Asylum!! Seriously though, that game was awesome and I'm sorry you had troubles.
