THR is reporting that Legendary Pictures has come out on top in a multi-studio bidding war for SKYSCRAPER, an action pitch from CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE and WE'RE THE MILLERS director Rawson Thurber.

Thurber will write and direct the project, which is being described as "a 'Die Hard in China' star vehicle in which one man goes up against extraordinary circumstances." Thurber's CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE star Dwayne Johnson is attached to lead the actioner, and he will also produce the project with the filmmaker and Beau Flynn.

The ink is still drying on the deal, so there's no timetable for when production may start. But it could be a while, since Johnson is linked to a number of upcoming film projects, including Sony's JUMANJI remake, Universal's THE JANSON DIRECTIVE, Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE, a sequel to SAN ANDREAS and a big screen adaptation of the 80s video game RAMPAGE.

Johnson recently finished filming for Seth Gordon's BAYWATCH, which is due out on May 19, 2017, while CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE will be in theaters on June 17, 2016.
