Emma Watson has her nose in a book on the set of The Perks of Being a Wallflower

We go from the grotesque to the pretty in our second first look of the day.

The lovely Emma Watson has her face in her research, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, which is currently being filmed. The adaptation of the book was done by the author Stephen Chbosky, who is helming the film as well. Watson plays the role of Sam, the main characters infatuation.

I bought the book after a friend recommended it and have read it at least three times. It’s so amazing to follow the journey of Charlie, who tells his story through letters to an unknown friend. The book captures so much of what its like growing-up, and captures the details and emotions so realistically. The film also stars Logan Lerman, Paul Rudd, Nina Dobrev, Erin Wilhelmi, Landon Pigg, Johnny Simmons, Sarah Ramos, Ezra Miller, and Mae Whitman. Watson said this about her time on set, “We’ve been shooting for, like, two weeks now, and we have three weeks left. It’s been great. I’m having the time of my life. I really am having a very, very good summer.”

Here’s the plot taken from the back of the book: “It is the story of what it’s like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie’s letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates, family dramas, and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, where all you need is that perfect song on that perfect drive to make you feel infinite.”
