Exclusive: Optimus Prime rides into battle in this spoilerish product promo art for Transformers: Age of Extinction

11.08.2013

Minor Spoilers

Much has been made of whether or not the dinobots would be in Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION, ever since we first reported the scoop back in May. Since that time, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has confirmed that the dinobots are in the film (as if "Age of Extinction" wasn't a good enough indicator), which I think is a smart move for the franchise. Today, we have even more confirmation, as a trusted source has shared an image (albeit a little blurry) from a recent trade show that features a spoilerish part of the film, namely Optimus Prime's new ride. Well, he's already a "ride" himself, but his OTHER ride is a dinosaur, namely one that goes by Grimlock and is an autobot T-Rex.

Saddle up, autobot:

So, yeah, this isn't Earth-shattering, but interesting nonetheless. It's the third time I've heard about autobots hitching a ride on the dinobots, so I'm putting my money on seeing that transpire in the film. I know some folks may find that cheesy, but they should probably remind themselves that it's a movie about robots that turn into vehicles (or dinosaurs!) that's based on a line of toys from Hasbro. Relax and enjoy the Bayhem, I say. Plus, it's dinosaurs, man. Who doesn't love dinosaurs? Especially robotic dinosaurs!

TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION, starring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, Titus Welliver, and Bingbing Li is set to stomp into theaters on June 27, 2014.

Me Grimlock...

...am King dino with Bling! Honestly, anything stupid wouldn't surprise me in this trainwreck anymore. It'll make gobs of cash and be complete crap. I'm assuming....Grimlock and the rest are going to be dimwitted retard Autobots that accidentally ended up near a animatronic Dinopark and scanned those instead of vehicles in Bay's Universe? Or have they been around even longer and scanned meaty dinos and ended up looking like metal versions of them, but got stupid over time (like us in the

Well.... if they follow the G1 series even a little bit, you're still way off.

I am excited for the film but I highly doubt this is actual movie footage. Maybe artwork for a kids book cause as it stands, Grimlock is gonna be like 60ft tall in dino mode which make zero sense. I like the T-rex look, but kinda prefer a more G1, not cartoonish but not sooooo real T-rex skeleton looking. I dunno. Wait and see what happens. Dinoriders only makes sense for smaller bots, not Prime whom would probably be same size or slightly smaller scale wise, but certainly not THAT much

Hmmm...

Hopefully we get some full on robot on robot action (and we can tell which robot is fighting whom) but this does sound cheesy. I will wait for a trailer but is can pretty much figure out the deal without one. If Bay can get away from the horrible comedic beats and useless humans involved in the conflicts this could be fun in a "mindnumbingly ", robots that turn into cars that fight kinda way.
