Hunger Games writer, Danny Strong, to write/direct J.D. Salinger biopic

For you TV connoisseurs, Danny Strong might be a bit of a familiar face.  He's played roles in just about everything from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Mad Men, and more recently, Justified.  The man's also been making some serious waves with his written word, as he penned the Lee Daniel's picture THE BUTLER, as well as the upcoming conclusion of Jennifer Lawrence's relationship with a bow in THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY (PART 1).

Strong looks to stretch his legs out even further, as he's personally optioned the Kenneth Slawenski novel, “J.D. Salinger: A Life” and is looking to both write and direct.  SALINGER'S WAR, as it is currently titled, looks to examine the life of the titular author, his service in World War II, and how "'Catcher in the Rye" came to be.  Given what a staple "Rye" is in the literary world, I can imagine the story behind it may be just as fascinating.
