Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis are all back for Horrible Bosses 2

Mar. 11, 2013by: Jesse Giroux

Horrible Bosses trio

I didn't dislike HORRIBLE BOSSES but my expectations were so high that the film was a bit of a disapointment for me. I just didn't find it as funny as I thought it was going to be considering the cast involved. There were certain parts I laughed at but overall the movie kind of let me down.

Maybe HORRIBLE BOSSES 2 will be better. THR has an exclusive that after some extensive negotiating, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis have signed on to the sequel. Jamie Foxx (Motherf*cker Jones) is also in talks to come back for HORRIBLE BOSSES 2 as well. There is a chance that some of the bosses from the original (probably not Colin Farrell for obvious reasons) will return but the sequel will focus on a new set of bosses that I'm sure will give the trio plenty of grief.

Seth Gordon will be back as the director and with how well his movies have performed (his latest, IDENTITY THIEF is at $118 million) I wouldn't be surprised if HORRIBLE BOSSES 2 is put into production very quickly.

Extra Tidbit: Who do you want to see as horrible bosses? I'll give you my three: Sam Rockwell, Michael Caine, and Susan Sarandon.

Have the bosses trying to kill them and they get the sadistic Bob Newhart to help. Maybe a company took out life insurance policies on them and is trying to cash in by making it look like they are having accidents or something. Then they go visit Kevin Spacey in prison like Hannibal Lecter for advice.

Um...why?

The idea that these SAME three guys should be involved with the story of a sequel is completely retarded. I'd be okay with another installment had we a whole new cast. The idea of continuing with the same actor's is just a cash cow influx. Zero interest.

Holy shit yes. I want to see Alec Baldwin go all "Glengarry Glen Ross" again.

Since I find the "bosses" the best part of the movie, I think the following would be inspired choices: Jeff Goldblum, Anthony Hopkins, Irdis Elba. I also think Mel Gibson would be great, but I'm not sure the studio would go for him.

I dunno

Pretty mixed feelings on this announcement....I freaking love Horrible Bosses. I think its honestly one of the funniest movie to come out in years, way better than even the first Hangover in my opinion. I was a huuuuuge fan of the first Hangover when it was in theaters but on multiple viewings it becomes less and less funny. With Horrible Bosses I laugh just as hard every time I watch it. I love the chemistry between the three guys (never understood why everyone thought the chemistry between

I love the chemistry between the three guys (never understood why everyone thought the chemistry between the wolfpack is good...its not really) With that said I get nervous that they are making a sequel to this great film. I'm worried that this is going to cheapen the first one just like Hangover 2 did.

The writers are going to have to work extremely hard to come up with a great new idea for this film. I kinda like the idea below about them opening a business that screws over bosses. I think that has the biggest possibility for laughs and is not a cookie cutter of the original. Perhaps one of them is now a horrible boss? And its up to the others to stop him? Lets just say I'm more intrigued right now than excited.

The sequel should be them going into business with Motherfucker Jones to help people screw over their own horrible bosses. As for the three new bosses? I vote: Jon Hamm, Jeffrey Tambor and Mark Wahlberg

It would be awesome...

if THEY are actually being targeted to get murdered...

Nice little twist here (BTW I thought the first one was great! Loved Jennifer Aniston's character)

No on Melissa McCarthy. I'd rather them cast Sandra Bullock instead.

I hope they come up with something original. Trying to kill their bosses a second time sounds like it might be given the "Hangover 2" treatment. Anyways, I'm currently watching Arrested Development and anything with Jason Batemen I'll go see.

Would definitely welcome a sequel to this. Possible three horrible bosses - Selma Hayek, Willem Dafoe, & Arnold Schwarzenegger

Hopefully they take a different approach. After the first, I find it hard to believe any of them would attempt to kill their bosses again.

Loved the first one and hopefully the sequel can live up to the original. The original is one of the best comedies to come out in awhile and Bateman, Day, and Sudekis all had great chemistry with one another.

But yes, please bring back Foxx for Motherfucker Jones!

As I am sure they'll try to turn this into a Hang Over franchise, the first one should be left well enough alone. I loved these characters. Basically type casted since I don't think Bateman or Day's performances were a bit of a stretch from anything they've done prior, which is fine. Like Michael Cera, stick to what you do best. I just feel these 3 worked great together. The timing and delivery among the 3 was spot on and I laughed every step of the way.

The bosses were actually the true stars in the first one. Anniston and Farrell should be applauded and recognized for their stellar performances. Jamie Foxx as well. I have no idea how they'll top the first one and who the bosses could possibly be, but they better bring their A GAME!

Sounds Great!

What the hell Jesse Giroux! "Horrible Bosses" was the funniest comedy of 2011. How could you see this film and feel even the slightest bit disappointed? I saw it in the theater and it was one of those RARE comedies where I was laughing the entire time, and that was without a single drop of rum. Bring back Newhart, and don't forget Foxx.

I didn't think it was hilarious all the way through, sorry. I was excited for HORRIBLE BOSSES after seeing the trailers but there were a couple of things that bugged me: not enough screen time for Farrell, Aniston's character and story seemed like they were just kind of thrown in there, and the end didn't satisfy me. And there were plenty of movies from 2011 that made me laugh more: HESHER, ATTACK THE BLOCK, MELANCHOLIA...just kidding. But yes Newhart and Foxx need to come back for the sequel.
