Jonah uses imagination

I tried adding Jonah Hill on Facebook a while back, and the guy has yet to add me as a friend. It’s not my fault though. The guy plays such likeable and relatable dudes on film that he made me think that he was my friend, and then when he doesn’t add me, you can’t blame me for feeling a little, well, devastated. But just because Jonah punked me, it doesn’t mean I’ll stop writing about him and getting excited about his shit, hence this: Hill wrote a script called PURE IMAGINATION, which his pal Judd Apatow will produce, about a guy who isn’t sure whether his stellar girlfriend is real or not. Says Hill:

“Basically, I go through a bunch of traumatic stuff, and I develop an imaginary friend. Then what happens is I meet a girl, and we start dating … but the problem is I don’t know whether she [actually] exists [or] whether she’s a figment of my imagination. It’s basically a relationship movie, but the whole time I’m trying to avoid finding out whether she’s real or not.”

Hill said that he wants to mix the same kind of realistic humour him and his colleagues are known for, with some more visually creative stuff. Think Judd Apatow meets Michel Gondry. Hill also said that the film is kind of like a little bit “artsier.” Shit. This movie has the potential to take me from really really wanting to be Jonah Hill’s friend to really really really really wanting to be Jonah Hill’s friend. Not only does this possess potential for great comedy, but I can smell a little drama in there too. Coming up next he’s got ONE PART SUGAR, HORTON HEARS A WHO, and FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL.
