Meet the imposing, intimidating Viktor Drago in new Creed II teaser

In the very first trailer for CREED II both Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) and his son Viktor (Florian Munteanu) were kept out of the spotlight so as to tease their impending arrival. Now they’re both out in the open right alongside Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) and Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), and while you may know Ivan from ROCKY IV, you still have yet to meet his massive, bulking, human-wrecking ball of a son. In this new teaser for the movie you get to meet the man who will give our title hero a run for his money and who could easily make him meet the same fate as his father.

This showcase of Munteanu’s very special and intimidating set of skills pairs nicely with last week’s featurette digging into the return of Ivan Drago and why this fight means so much to him. There are some heavy dramatic stakes at play here and the fact they’ll cover it from both sides of the rings really emphasizes the scope they’re going for. On top of all that, Munteanu is one big man, and purely on a physical front, he stands as a major threat to Adonis that will surely make for an exciting final fight.

Here is the plot synopsis:

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan). Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.

CREED II arrives in theaters November 21.
